# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • It takes ten minutes to throw together and then your slow cooker does all the work while you handle everything else.
  • The apricot jam adds a fruity sweetness that balances the tang of the barbecue sauce in a way that keeps people guessing.
  • You can keep it warm for hours without worrying about it drying out or losing flavor.
02 -
  • Stir the sausages halfway through cooking or the ones on top won't get as glossy and flavorful as the ones sitting in the sauce.
  • If your jam has big chunks of fruit, mash them with the back of a spoon before whisking so the sauce stays smooth and coats evenly.
03 -
  • Use a slow cooker liner if you want to skip scrubbing sticky sauce off the crock later, it peels right off and makes cleanup instant.
  • If you're traveling with this dish, wrap a towel around the crock pot and secure the lid with a rubber band to prevent spills in the car.
