Lemon Ginger Turmeric Wellness Cubes (Printable)

Frozen citrus shots combining lemon, ginger, and turmeric for an easy daily wellness boost. Perfect for busy mornings.

# What You Need:

→ Citrus

01 - 3 large lemons, juiced (approximately 3/4 cup fresh lemon juice)

→ Roots and Spices

02 - 2-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and chopped
03 - 2-inch piece fresh turmeric, peeled and chopped, or 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
04 - 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

→ Liquid

05 - 1 cup filtered water

→ Sweetener

06 - 1 to 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup, optional

# Directions:

01 - Add lemon juice, chopped ginger, chopped turmeric or ground turmeric, filtered water, black pepper, and sweetener if desired into a blender.
02 - Blend on high speed for 1 to 2 minutes until the mixture reaches a smooth consistency.
03 - Pour the blended mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a bowl, pressing gently to extract all liquid while removing pulp.
04 - Carefully pour the strained liquid into an ice cube tray, filling each compartment evenly to the top.
05 - Place the filled ice cube tray in the freezer for a minimum of 2 hours or until the cubes are completely solid.
06 - Remove 2 cubes per serving and dissolve in a glass of warm water, add to smoothies, or consume as a concentrated wellness shot.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • You get a whole immunity-boosting shot ready whenever you need it, no blending required in the moment.
  • The flavor is genuinely bright and warming, not medicinal or bitter like some health concoctions.
  • Making a batch takes fifteen minutes but gives you weeks of ready-to-go wellness in your freezer.
  • It works everywhere: hot water, cold smoothies, or just as a concentrated shot if you're brave enough.
02 -
  • Black pepper is not a flavor choice, it's actually essential because piperine in the pepper increases turmeric absorption by up to two thousand percent, so leaving it out defeats half the purpose.
  • Fresh turmeric stains everything permanently, so wear an apron you don't love and wash your hands immediately after chopping.
  • If your cubes come out cloudy instead of clear and golden, you didn't strain them long enough, and next time let the mixture sit in the sieve for a full minute.
03 -
  • If you can't find fresh turmeric and you're using ground, reduce the amount to three-quarters of a teaspoon because the concentrated flavor is stronger and can become overwhelming.
  • Freeze these in smaller silicone molds if you have them, because regular ice cube trays make large cubes that are sometimes too intense as a single serving.
  • Keep a piece of fresh ginger in your freezer already peeled and wrapped so you can grab it anytime without the staining and prep work.
