# Directions:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
02 - In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
03 - In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
04 - Add eggs one at a time to the wet mixture, whisking well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
05 - Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
06 - Fold in chocolate chunks, reserving some to press on the dough surface before baking.
07 - Spread dough evenly into a 10-inch oven-safe skillet; press reserved chocolate chunks on top and bake 22–25 minutes until edges are golden and center is set but soft.
08 - Allow to cool slightly; sprinkle with flaky sea salt if desired. Serve warm from the skillet topped with vanilla ice cream.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • It bakes in one skillet, so theres no portioning, no waiting, and almost no cleanup.
  • The edges turn golden and crisp while the center stays impossibly soft and fudgy.
  • You can serve it straight from the oven with ice cream melting on top, and everyone grabs a spoon.
02 -
  • Dont overbake, the center will look underdone but it firms up as it cools, and thats where the magic is.
  • Use an oven safe skillet, I learned this the hard way when a plastic handle started smoking.
  • Let the melted butter cool slightly before adding eggs, or youll end up with scrambled bits in your dough.
03 -
  • Press extra chocolate chunks on top before baking so every slice looks bakery perfect.
  • Use a cast iron skillet if you have one, it holds heat beautifully and gives the edges a crisp, caramelized crust.
  • Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top right after baking, the warmth helps it stick and the contrast makes every bite sing.
