Fragrant latte with homemade lavender syrup and whipped foam. A soothing, elegant beverage perfect for any time of day.

# What You Need:

→ Lavender Syrup

01 - 1/2 cup water
02 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar
03 - 1 tablespoon dried culinary lavender

→ Latte

04 - 2 shots espresso or strong brewed coffee, approximately 2 fluid ounces
05 - 1 cup whole milk or plant-based milk
06 - 2 tablespoons lavender syrup

→ Whipped Lavender Foam

07 - 1/2 cup cold whole milk or plant-based milk
08 - 1 tablespoon lavender syrup
09 - 1 tablespoon heavy cream, optional

# Directions:

01 - Combine 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, and 1 tablespoon dried culinary lavender in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat and allow to steep for 5 minutes. Strain through a fine mesh strainer to remove lavender flowers and cool thoroughly.
02 - Brew 2 shots of espresso or prepare strong brewed coffee. Divide equally between two serving mugs.
03 - Heat 1 cup milk until steaming, then froth using a milk frother or whisk until lightly foamy. Stir 1 tablespoon lavender syrup into each mug with espresso, then pour steamed milk into each mug.
04 - Combine 1/2 cup cold milk and optional 1 tablespoon heavy cream with 1 tablespoon lavender syrup in a mixing bowl. Whip using a hand frother or electric whisk until thick and fluffy peaks form.
05 - Spoon whipped lavender foam generously over each prepared latte. Optionally, garnish with a light sprinkle of dried culinary lavender.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The lavender syrup is incredibly easy to make and turns an ordinary latte into something that feels luxurious and spa-like.
  • That whipped foam on top is like a cloud, soft and sweet, and it makes every sip feel indulgent without being heavy.
  • You can adjust the floral notes to your liking, so its never overwhelming, just perfectly fragrant and soothing.
02 -
  • Steeping the lavender for too long can make the syrup taste soapy and bitter, so stick to five minutes and taste as you go.
  • Cold milk whips up much better than room temperature milk, so keep it chilled until youre ready to make the foam.
03 -
  • If you dont have an espresso machine, use a moka pot or even instant espresso powder mixed with hot water for a strong enough base.
  • Whip the foam right before serving because it deflates quickly, and you want that cloud-like texture fresh and airy on top.
